2008 housing quarters in the 20th district of Paris : two rows of city houses flanking the parcel, one long building in between.
Frightfully difficult to photograph due to exiguity and the resulting contrast... but beautiful.
12 images as first session, june 2015 :
View of the main entrance, rue de Terre Neuve.
Further down the alley, overview toward the S-E : city houses Right, main building Left. And kids spying from the top of their stairway.
Roughly the same viewpoint as before, a bit further down again, but three floors higher.
Down again, the wisteria green leaves sheltering from an implacable summer sun.
Opposite view, with a kid in blue. Contrast- and color-wise, this is EXACTLY what a human eye would see.
C. 10AM, from an escape which gives way to a sub-part of the parcel : two city houses (L & R) and part of the main building.
Just after the previous escape, toward the S_E. A little girl is (impatiently) waiting for her mum on the stairs.
Post-sunset view from the top - yes, green is the word !
First image of the series, with a cat, and contrast even my system had trouble with !
C. 3PM, stark sun and beautiful structure alternating rough concrete, wood and gorgeous green wisteria leaves.
Post-sunset view and penultimate image of the first session. Barely a Photoshop correction here : this is the 4x5" negative as it is.
Ultimate image of the first session ; the secondary entrance is just behind me. Barely a Photoshop correction here, too.
Second session, april 2016 :
West alley. After having tracked for a week the swift appearance of the wisteria flowers, luck gave me a beautiful weekend.
Wisteria flowers don't last, at all, and a single rain episode is more than enough to put them down.
East alley. Possibly the most difficult image of the lot : proper light angle lasts half an hour and perspective tweaking with the Norma is quite trying to avoid the dreaded ultra-wide angle effect.
East alley ; this is made to be a mural poster : 4m tall or so.
Same spot but further down the alley and slightly later.
South-East spot. Three days after that saturday everything was gone. Vanished.
Top of the South building ; this is also made for a mural poster.
