Eco-Housing in Vitry I \ Françoise Jourda
Second session, 2014, with, at last, the main street and some of the large perspectives accessible !
First day of the second session - lucky : no cars in front and even a cat passing by !
The "breakup" between two of the main buildings. Two Fofana kids going to school.
Half an hour of sun available for the north façades... gotta hurry.
General perspective of the north side, late in the day.
Beautiful, peaceful perspective showing the old "social house" still under reconstruction and the west building after it.
Variant of the previous one, much later in the day.
The east building, alas not accessible in its entirety...
East building, detail.
One of the main perspectives inside the lot ; four of the seven buildings visible.
Variant of an image done last year, but with the sun shining from the opposite side and three running Fofana ghosts.
Main place of the lot ; the 1920s "Social House" will become something else soon...
The main building holds triplex apartments and individual gardens on its south side - remember this is low-rent social housing !
Kids, life, sunset - a perfect summer day.
The east side of the west building shadowed by the south building.
East side of the west building shadowed by the old Social House, near the main street. Mr Fofana goes to work with one of his (many) kids and another kid is spying from his room.
One of the two smaller buildings, south side of the lot.
The other smaller building, south side of the lot ; triplex apartments again, gardens on the other side.
West building, north side. Mr Fofana, who lives in one of the ground-floor apartments, loaned a ladder so I could get as high as possible with my tripod (almost 3 meters) but I had to ascertain official authority to keep this spot car-free !
Large eco-housing estate near Paris : 106 apartments with gardens, in duplex or triplex.
Seven buildings in all, plus three entrances, a park and a lagoon, the latter still being under construction ; three buildings and many important views were therefore not covered during this first session done in august, 2013.
Main building, facing south.
East building and part of the small one that opens on the south side of the lot.
All 100-year old trees were kept, and new ones planted.
Each apartment here is on three floors, with individual gardens on the other side.
One vertical apartment "strip".
Main south building, seen from the east parking entrance.
Reverse view, from high above.
Center of the lot, the west building.
Detail of the previous view, much later in the day.
Last image of the session, nurtured for two weeks so that the shadows would descend exactly at 45° with a sun position clearly separating building and background.
North side of the main south building, closing the center of the lot ; again, here too the apartments are on three floors, with gardens on the south side.
Entrance detail.
West end of the previous building, south end of the west building, with one of the two smaller buildings in the middle.
Detail of the west building ; apartments here are single-floor, with (very) large balconies on this (east) or the other side (west).
Detail of the structures.
The opening between the two main buildings ; south side.
The opening between the two main buildings ; north side.
Main corner of the east part of the lot - part 1.
Main corner of the east part of the lot - part 2.
Part of the main west building.
Variant of the previous images showing the opening and large terraces ; this is facing south.
Three of the seven buildings ; individual gardens fronting all apartments.
Nearly reversed view of the previous image ; individual gardens fronting all apartments.
On apartment "strip", from its garden.
Parts of the south and west buildings.
Another variant of the west building...
... and what's on the other, west, side.
Larger view ; larger is impossible : the trees are too big !
Complete perspective ; not feasible anymore because the apartment separations have been installed since...
